History of Industry

Once the 138-acre site of the Atlantic Steel Mill, the area showcased Atlanta’s role in the Industrial Revolution. The historic mill was open for 100 years before closing its doors in 1998. After a major reclamation effort in the 1990s, this northwest part of the city is now a thriving neighborhood, rich in retail, entertainment and residential development.
